Frequently Asked Questions

  • I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna health insurances as well as out-of-network. Using your out-of-network benefits offers more privacy as I do not have to share your personal health information and diagnosis with insurance. We are free to meet as we see fit without the pressure of insurance guidelines.

To check your out-of-network benefits using Reimbursify, click here. For those using out-of-network benefits, ECA Counseling offers a complimentary service of filing the reimbursement claims on your behalf. No dealing with superbills or insurance, just keep an eye out for your reimbursement check in the mail!

    Out-of-network rates:

    • Initial session (60 min): $200

    • Continuing Care (50 min): $150

  • ECA Counseling uses Simple Practice, a HIPPA compliant platform, similar to Zoom. You will receive an email or text link (your choice!) 48 hours before the scheduled appointment and then again the day of our meeting.

At this time, I am only available to meet with clients via telehealth. Appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm.

  • Please give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the session fee of $150.

  • You can email, use the contact form on the website, or call 508-960-9493. We will schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit. If we are, then we’ll book the initial session. You will receive an email with the intake paperwork.

  • Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers must provide patients without insurance or those not using insurance with an estimate of anticipated charges for medical services, which includes psychotherapy services.

You are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate detailing the anticipated total cost for any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy. Feel free to request this estimate from your healthcare provider or any other chosen provider before scheduling a service.

Should you receive a bill exceeding your Good Faith Estimate by at least $400, you have the right to dispute the bill. It is important to keep a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate for reference.

  • I am definitely biased, but YES it does work! But as with anything in life, you get out of it what you put in. Therapy goes beyond the scheduled sessions; it involves preparing for our meetings, honestly sharing struggles, implementing strategies outside of our session, and knowing that to make change it takes work.

The more motivated you are the more likely you are to see the changes you desire. You will know therapy is “working” when you no longer feel alone in dealing with your struggles, you feel safe to process your stress, learn new ways to cope, change things that aren’t working in your life and are achieving the goals you set out to work on.

  • This is tricky to answer because it is different for everyone. Some people come to therapy to work on short-term goals while others have goals that take longer to achieve. And then there are those that find therapy as a lifelong part of their self-care that helps them manage day-to-day frustrations, continue to grow, and feel more balanced.
